Anna Soubry on Boris: 'We will not allow a no-deal Brexit'
The Change UK leader said 'we will not allow, no deal'.
Anna Soubry has spoken out about Boris Johnson's next moves as Prime Minister claiming she doesn't see how he would be able to deliver on his promise of leaving the EU by October 31st.
In his victory winning speech on Tuesday, Boris claimed he would 'deliver Brexit and unite the country' but the Change UK party leader has said there is no room for negotiation around the current Brexit deal.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain Mrs Soubry said: "He isn't going to get some new marvellous deal...they have made it very clear that agreement is the only deal in town.
"There is nobody to negotiate with anyway because the commission won't be up and running until November. He's not going to renegotiate, I'm sorry but that is just a blatant fib."
Asked by Ben Shephard whether Boris' tactic of leaving no deal on the table would help with negotiations, Anna said: "This idea that Mrs May didn't really believe in no-deal, good, I'm glad she didn't believe in no deal, because we know, in the words of her Business Secretary, it would be a disaster for our country, it would be the very worst outcome."
Mrs Soubry then added that any attempt to leave the European Union without a deal would most likely be blocked by the House of Commons.
She added: "The point I'm making is, how is he going to leave on October 31st? He can't get no deal through the House of Commons, because quite rightly we are putting our country and our constituencies first, and time and time again we have said we will not allow, no deal."
"We won't vote for no deal because it's so bad for our country."
